What a windy evening!

Its about 6:30 and it is starting to rain. My husband and son are on the porch having a good time in the rain. As the hail comes and the wind direction changes they come in, amazed at the wind speed. The phone rings and it's Tiffany saying that my niece Amanda had a tree fall on the garage. We decided to go see the damaged and had a hard time getting over to her house. There are down trees everywhere, on houses and cars. We drove as close as we could and had to go the rest of the way on foot. As we arrive her little play house is on its side in the front yard, and there is no garage left. The tree missed the cars by inches.

We drove around for a few snap shots

Holy Toledo!! What a storm! That was some insane wind and horizontal rain! Our neighbors lost their two big pine trees. That is too bad about Amanda's garage, thank goodness it missed the cars and that more importantly no one was hurt!

It was a crazy storm. You are right at least no one was hurt. Did your neighbor's trees hit anything?

It was quite the storm last night, I agree, but one of those times I think living in the flat land boondocks = less chance of storm damage? I hope so, because we have a whole row of pine trees next to our house and pine trees topple because they don't grow DEEP roots. That is just terrible about the tree meets garage et al but agree with Dawn - MOST IMPORTANT, no one was hurt.

Amy your house is fine!!

Amanda's house is right by Merril Park School, thats where most of the damage is, however every street off of Michigan has a tree down. We just now got cable back (Sunday 12:27)! I thought the family was going to go crazy with no computer or TV!
Still no power for Amanda and Sister Donna, and it 90 degrees out!

Julie, the GM plant by our house had pine trees out front and every pine tree is up rooted!!

Oh, thank you for the comforting words about pine trees Jill!! Nothing I didn't already know BUT !!!

We just got our power back on after being w/o for ~ 14 hours. The channel 19 antenae, just down the road, is still out. Hopefully the power will stay on with today's storm. At least SE has been faring well with the storms per the boss.
